The 1 + 1 ⁄ 2-story building received a large addition by Mark Dunham in 1884 on the west side; Mark used it as the Oaklawn Farm office. In 1935, the Dunham Woods Riding Club was founded in the former house. The other two particularly significant buildings are barns used by the Dunham family. Both are on the southeast end of the property.

[7] The facilities at the University of Illinois Experimental Dairy Farm were replaced by larger confines in 1960, though the area was maintained.
Part of the 1994 National Register of Historic Places listing for the University of Illinois Experimental Dairy Farm Historic District includes three round barns. The barns were constructed every two years from 1908 thru 1912. [5] The barns are known by the simple designations, Barn #1, Barn #2 and Building #857.
The Manske–Niemann Farm is a historic 462-acre (187 ha) farm complex located at 13 Franks Lane near Litchfield, Illinois. The farm was most likely established in the 1850s and was purchased by German immigrant Michael Manske in 1863. Manske and his family developed and expanded the farm in three main stages.
