Dhaid, or Al Dhaid (Arabic: ٱلذَّيْد, romanized: Adh-Dhayd), is the capital of the Central Region of the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.An oasis town, it has extensive irrigated date palm plantations with water channelled from the nearby Hajar mountains, at least in part through ancient tunnels dug for that purpose, known as aflāj in Arabic (falaj in the singular).
As well as Buraimi, the Khawatir also settled in the Sharjah dependency of Dhaid, where they subsisted frequently uneasily with their Bani Qitab neighbours, a number of disputes culminating with the Khawatir prevailing in 1927, with suspicions of interference with the oasis' water supply arising because of the unusually poor date crop that year.

The wadi is a 'y' shaped waterway, one branch passing through the villages of Harrah and Wadi Helo, while the other runs down from the Wadi Helo lagoon, located further along the old Sharjah-Kalba highway towards Kalba. The new highway opened in October 2020, runs 26km from Wadi Helo to Kalba. [1]
