In 1916, Spenard came to Anchorage, which had only been named the previous year. He is credited with bringing the first automobile to Anchorage, a truck manufactured by the REO Motor Car Company. Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson (IATA: EDF, ICAO: PAED, FAA LID: EDF) is a United States military facility in Anchorage, Alaska. It is a joint base formed from the United States Air Force's Elmendorf Air Force Base and the United States Army's Fort Richardson, which were merged in 2010. [2]
Alaska was won by incumbent President Gerald Ford (R-Michigan) with 57.9% of the popular vote against Jimmy Carter (D-Georgia) with 35.7%. [1] Carter ultimately won the national vote however, defeating Ford and becoming the next President. Alaska has only voted Democratic once, and that was in 1964 for Lyndon B. Johnson.
