A three-part prequel original animation DVD (OAD) was announced in the fifth volume of the manga, titled The Ancient Magus' Bride: Those Awaiting a Star (魔法使いの嫁 星待つひと, Mahō Tsukai no Yome: Hoshi Matsu Hito).
