Quasar is a British progressive rock band, formed in 1979 by Keith Turner. They found themselves to be amongst a movement of British bands during the early 1980s, including Marillion , Pendragon , IQ , Twelfth Night , Solstice and Pallas , that continued in the progressive rock style created by 1970s bands such as Genesis and Yes .
The album also features contributions from former P-Funk drummer Jerome Brailey. Both Glenn Goins and Jerome Brailey were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Parliament-Funkadelic. Their latest album Quasar was released in May 2012. In 2013, a statement posted in German on the band's official website confirmed that the band had decided to part ways permanently. The band played a number of farewell shows that year, and changed their Facebook profile image to a band logo with the numbers 1998–2013 underneath. [4]
