Holt is the second most-populated CDP (after Forest Hills) and the fifth largest by area in the state of Michigan. The community is south of Lansing , just south of I-96 between US-127 and M-99 . According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 29.03 square miles (75.19 km 2), of which 28.61 square miles (74.10 km 2) is land and 0.42 square miles (1.09 km 2) (1.45%) is water. [3] The Grand River flows through the southwestern part of the township, and Sycamore Creek flows through its northeastern part. [4]
