Charles Rozell Swindoll / ˈ s w ɪ n ˌ d ɒ l / (born October 18, 1934) is an evangelical Christian pastor, author, educator, and radio preacher. He founded Insight for Living , headquartered in Frisco , Texas , which airs a radio program of the same name on more than 2,000 stations around the world in 15 languages.
He mentored many Christian leaders, including Chuck Swindoll, Tony Evans, Joseph Stowell, Robert Jeffress, Chip Ingram and David Jeremiah. [1] He was a keynote speaker for Promise Keepers and authored sixteen books. He ministered in over 80 countries, and he also served as chaplain for the Dallas Cowboys football team from 1976 to 1984. [1]
The church was founded in 1998 by a group of individuals including then-future Attorney General of Texas Ken Paxton, his wife Angela, and Senior Pastor Chuck Swindoll, whose sermons are broadcast worldwide on the radio program Insight for Living. [2]
