Rekhta is an Indian web portal started by Rekhta Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Urdu literature. Aag Ka Darya (Urdu: آگ کا دریا; River of Fire) is a landmark historical Urdu-language novel written by Qurratulain Hyder providing context to the partition of the Indian subcontinent into two nation-states. It has been described as "one of the Indian Subcontinent's best known novels". [1]
Rasheed Ahmad Siddiqui is regarded as a major writer of Urdu prose. His sensitivity to the major issues of the subcontinent was remarkable. It was natural for him, being a descendant of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, to be so concerned about the plight of the Indian Muslims. Prof Rasheed Ahmed Siddiqui was a liberal and progressive critic.
Khuda Ki Basti (transl. God's Own Land) [1] is a Pakistani Urdu novel penned by Shaukat Siddiqui in 1957. [2] The novel is about life in a Karachi slum built after the independence of Pakistan in 1947 and the struggles in the lives of poor people living there. Khuda Ki Basti TV drama serials were made in 1969 and 1974 based on the novel. [3] [4]
