Amherst-Plymouth Wildlife Management Area [2] [1] is a 7,061-acre (2,857 ha) protected area located in Putnam County, West Virginia. The site is along the banks of the Kanawha River and is popular for hunting Canada geese in the fall. [3]
Available hunting can include deer, rabbit, grouse, squirrel, turkey and waterfowl. Boating is permitted (electric motors only) on both of the small lakes. A 200-yard (180 m) shooting range is located on the WMA. Camping is prohibited at Frozen Camp WMA land. [2]
Chief Cornstalk Wildlife Management Area is located on 11,772 acres (4,764 ha) in Mason County near Southside, West Virginia. [2] Second growth oak-hickory and mixed hardwoods forests cover much of the rolling and moderately steep slopes.

The land was acquired in 2014. [2] Access to the Fairfax Pond – Rehe WMA can be gained from West Virginia Route 92 on Arthur Road (County Route 92/1) and Dogtown Road (County Route 56/2). Primary species for hunting include deer, wild turkey, waterfowl and grouse. Trapping for beaver, muskrat, raccoon and bobcat is available on the area.
Hillcrest Wildlife Management Area is located in Hancock County near New Cumberland, West Virginia. Located on 2,212 acres (895 ha) of former farmland, the flat bottoms and rolling hills provide open fields, old orchards and small forest lots.
