Ever since AT&T took over DIRECTV, all of their customer service operations (1-800-531-5000) have been moved to some Asian country overseas. I can tell because every time I have called this number, it has been answered by an Asian female with a thick accent.

@Jrandomuser 800-531-5000 has been active since the start of DIRECTV and has been made to integrate DIRECTV STREAM customers as well if the customer says they are calling about the product ‘DIRECTV STREAM.’ I know there are dedicated numbers for DIRECTV STREAM so I will simply link the support page next time for stream customers to call.
We have addressed the hours in the only way can by informing you the correct hours of 8am to Midnight Eastern Time as it always has been and shown on their website (which I even linked). A 24 month service agreement should only occur if there is an upgrade of equipment or you get a special discount for 24 months. Changing the package never affects the agreement. Now that info is for the DirecTV side. Anything about your cell phone would be a question for AT&T. I must agree to a $5 charge to speak with billing. That was false.
Your customer service is so painful. On the phone for almost 2 hrs just to to try n add a channel. They added it deleted another had to call back and the customer service rep was very hard to understand kept repeating herself and now have to pay for the premier package just to get the channel back they deleted!!! SO PAINFUL!!
