There is no Kindle folder within Application Support. Tried showing hidden files too. And prior to that I had first installed the new Kindle App for Mac. Couldn't find them there, but read that it was easier with Kindle Classic, so I removed the new one and installed Classic. Any new suggestions, please? Thank you.
The version of Kindle for Mac that is in the Mac App Store is still at version 1.3.0, which was released a month ago (11/2020). You may be waiting awhile for Amazon to again update this application, or alternatively, you could use their Kindle Cloud Reader (requires Amazon sign-in).

I can’t highlight text , change speed or forward or rewind. When I stop text to speech it starts from the beginning of the page again. Tried using Mac’s Text to speech doesn’t seem to work.

So I went to the App Store and tried to download the current version, 1.40.1. The square dot appears and the circle fills for several seconds, then circling arrows appear for several seconds--exactly as if it were downloading and installing. Finally, the message appears: Unable to Download App"Kindle" could not be installed. Pleasetry again later.
Either way, my macbook pro isn't registered under my devices. I've even tried accessing the login from manage your kindle, no dice. I've cleared cookies, emptied trash, restarted Kindle, reinstalled different Kindle downloads, and altogether shut down laptop . . . nothing works. What magical step do you possess that I am missing here???
I removed from Login Items: SanDiskSecureAccess, Belkin Router Monitor and GrowlHelperApp. I maintained iTunesHelper in the list. Kindle App for Mac OS works just fine now, without crashing. What I removed and can´t find again to put it back in the list is the SpeechSynthesisServer application to make my Oxford Dictionary work.
