The Botanical Park, since 2007 the Botanical Garden, [3] is an arboretum in Timișoara.Up to its development in the 1900s, the land on which the park is located today was used as a training ground for military exercises.

The Rondul Român ("Romanian Round") or Rotonda Scriitorilor ("Writers' Rotunda") is a circular alley which has stone busts of twelve important Romanian writers: Mihai Eminescu, Alexandru Odobescu, Titu Maiorescu, Ion Luca Caragiale, George Coșbuc, Ștefan Octavian Iosif, Ion Creangă, Alexandru Vlahuță, Duiliu Zamfirescu, Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu, Nicolae Bălcescu and Vasile Alecsandri.

This section of the motorway is fully operational and is composed of two segments: Bucharest – Pitești and Pitești bypass. The Bucharest – Pitești segment (95.9 km) is the first motorway class road built in Romania and remained the only one for more than 15 years, until the completion of the Fetești – Cernavodă segment on the A2 motorway in 1987.
The park was arranged between 1929 and 1934, when over 1,200 species and varieties of roses were planted here. [5] The park, initially with an area of 25,170 m 2, was maintained until 1938 with the help of the military personnel of the garrison, under the command of Ion Sâmboteanu. After 1938 the park came under the administration of the city. [5]
