Nov. 27—Westmoreland commissioners have four weeks to make final tweaks to a 2024 budget that is not expected to raise taxes but could all but exhaust the county's surplus of funds.
The "view tax" referred to an impetus in the New Hampshire legislature in 2005 to increase the property tax rate on property with a “pleasing view.” House Bill 245 would not have imposed a tax, but merely would have set up a committee of six legislators to “study the processes for valuing water frontage and views of scenic areas”. New Hampshire Route 63 is a 21.514-mile-long (34.623 km) north–south state highway in Cheshire County in southwestern New Hampshire. It runs from Winchester to Westmoreland . The southern terminus is in Winchester at the Massachusetts state line, where the road continues as Massachusetts Route 63 in the town of Northfield .
