That depends a lot on the money. The GoG eNMEy is the best value in the sub-$200 market, at $199. It's the cheapest (in terms of new retail price) upgrade from your Cronus. The EMEK sells for $280-290 new and is worth every penny. Very solid marker right out of the box, and amazing when upgraded.
Tippmann chronus with a new barrel. Nice and lightweight, cheap, and offset hopper. I always was and always will be a fan of offset hopper. Add a proto primo hopper for a quick feeding. Best budget gun - the soon to be released twister CS3. Anything tippmann is a good start for a beginner.

On to guns. The GoG Enemy is a good basic entry marker level marker that comes in a bit cheaper than the highly regarded and arguably best choice, the emek from planet eclipse. There's also plenty of serviceable and playable used options like Tippmann 98s, A5s, various spiders, used Minis etc...
New paintball guns are practically indistinguishable from each other. It's sad. I'm also aware I brought up two products from two companies that are now defunct, but, if you are a true paintballer, then you should know that the sport wouldn't be what it is today without APS(formerly WDP) and WGP.
