Panjab University was established in 1882 at Lahore (now in Pakistani Punjab). It has 188 affiliated colleges spread over Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and regional centers at Muktsar, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur.
