Pro Fusion or Mapei Flexcolor CQ Looking for advise on a grout for my master bathroom shower floor only as well as the shower walls on a tub/shower combo in a guest bathroom. I am currently having a shower floor redone after 5 years due to some issues with efflorescence that I was unable to remove.
Being I work for Mapei I used Flexcolor CQ on my own glass tile backsplash. The main reason for my choice of grout was the color consistancy and the stain resistance this product offers. Its been up for about 3 yrs and still looks like the day I installed it.
I like the Mapei Flexcolor CQ quite a bit and has become my go-to. It is so much easier than bagged grout, you pretty much just open the container and go. No having to get your water ratios just right, don't have to mix-slake-mix and clean your bucket in between batches. The premixed stuff is a huge time saver for this solo guy.
Flexcolor CQ has no cement at all and will not contribute or act as a vehicle for efflorescence. The product does all the above, but much better. It also meets many of the same standards of an epoxy grout when it comes to color consistency, stain resistance, and some chemical resistance properties of epoxy.

Maybe the Mapei Flexcolor has a better track record than the competing Fusion Pro grout. A good comparison might actually be paints: Compare true marine-grade paints (often epoxy-based with part A and B that you have to mix together) to traditional solvent based ones (that just dry after application).
