Starting from January 1, 2024, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates-General in the United States simplify application documents required for tourist visa (L-visa). Tourist visa applicants within the United States will no longer be required to submit round-trip air ticket booking record, proof of hotel reservation, itinerary or invitation letter.
Complete the online application form at the China Online Visa Application (COVA) website. Please refer to the consular jurisdiction of the Chinese Embassy and Consulate General in the United States and select corresponding Embassy/Consulate-General when you submit the form online.
To further facilitate foreign nationals’ travel to China, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates-General in the U.S. will provide walk-in visa application services starting from October 23, 2023.
