My wife killed one 2 years ago and it dressed at 141. And she was a giant. I would say the average buck in Michigan probably weighs between 125-135 lbs though. My cousin just killed what we believed was a 5.5 y/o buck (3 years of pics as mature Deer ) in Lansing area and it weighed 152.

So I thought it would be interesting to see what everyones best deer weighed dressed or live weight. No estimates please, if it didn't hit a scale it doesn't matter.

gunfun13. A 200lb doe is probably more rare than a 150" buck in michigan. I remember a thread about doe weights last year, if I remember correctly it seemed like 150lb dress was about the max anyone had shot. According to a live deer weight estimator chart, she would have to be about 160lb dress to hit 200lb live.

One was 225 and the other 210. Both were shot the first week of October before the rut. My buddy who processed a lot of deer for people out of his garage said at the time the 225 was the heaviest he ever put on his scale. There was one heavier that came in since. I remember him saying people always over estimated the weight of deer specifically ...

  6. Legal Draw Weight For Deer Hunting - Michigan Sportsman Forum

Today's compound bows have a draw weight range of about 10 lbs. so he should be able to start with, say, a 30 and then let him try a heavier weight such as 35 or 40 after some shooting practice. A 40 lb. compound is more than adequate for whitetail deer with proper shot placement and reasonable range. Reply Like.

Noticeably larger than those of young deer. I put a tape measure to the hooves of the first buck we killed this year. It dressed out at 178 lbs.. The hoof was 3.25" long and 2.25" wide (not counting dew claws): The next buck we killed was the same weight but it's hooves only measured 3" X 2" flat (no pics).

When you shoot a 60 pound at max with the right arrow size and weight you should not have that much drop from a 70 pound bow with the right size and weight arrow. Most Pro Deer hunters shoot 60 pounds for hunting. Your Bow shoots best when your cams are max.

The Winchester 180 was the most accurate out of her gun (none of them were really bad). Both my dad and a family friend shot a deer woth the 180, and the blood trails left a lot to be desired.

I use a formula that works pretty good which is 50% of the hanging weight and subtract 20 pounds and you will be very close for an average deer mabey 130 pounds. A larger deer I subtract 30 pounds. That is pure meat not hamburger or sausage. Reply Like.
