A post office called Stover has been in operation since 1875. [6] The community has the name of John Hubler Stover, a congressman from Missouri. [7] Stover was laid out at its current site in 1905 when the railroad was extended to that point. [7] Prior to 1905, the city was slightly to the southeast of its current location.

Pyrmont is an unincorporated community in western Morgan County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1] The community is located just east of Missouri Route 135 approximately midway between Stover to the south and Florence to the northeast. Gabriel Creek flows past to the east. [2]
