At the heart of Schermerhorn Symphony Center is the 30,000 square feet (2,800 m 2), 1,844-seat Laura Turner Concert Hall, which is home to the Nashville Symphony. The hall is of the shoebox style . It features natural lighting, which streams in through 30 soundproof, double-paned clerestory windows.

Kenneth Dewitt Schermerhorn (/ ˈ s k ɜːr m ər h ɔːr n / SKUR-mər-horn; November 20, 1929 – April 18, 2005) was an American composer and orchestra conductor. He was the music director of the Nashville Symphony from 1983 to 2005.

The Nashville Symphony Fashion Show started in 2006 to raise awareness and funds in support of the world-renowned Nashville Symphony and its educational and community engagement programs. Past designers have included Carolina Herrera , Brandon Maxwell , Lela Rose , and Monique Lhuillier .
The 59' x 54' center open floor performing space is surrounded by three sides with banks of theater seating. With seating up to 256 configurable seats, this theater can host a variety of seating arrangements. Wing and storage space adjoin the theater, which features a 22-foot catwalk. Two dressing rooms can accommodate up to 24 performers.
