My wild guess is that you want US English but instead have Spanish ISO. Let me know. In any case, to fix it go to settings > general > keyboard > hardware keyboard and tap over at the right edge and pick the right one (and NOT "automatic"). This happens a lot when someone has the wrong setting for Hardware Keyboard.
