Yesterday, I went for broke and disabled the' Generic PnP monitor driver' in 'Device Manager'. I've used the PC heavily since yesterday, turned it off/on a few times and so far, disabling the generic Microsoft driver (dated: 21/06/2006, version: 10.0.18362.693) has done the trick.
Maybe a card using the nVidia GT 710 chipset. Low, power, relatively inexpensive (in the US, $45-60 from Newegg.) Appears to be still under full driver support by nVidia. As your monitors have DVI inputs, they should be OK. (You may need to use an HDMI to DVI adapter, or adapter cable, depensing on how the graphics card is set up.)
