TORC: The Off-Road Championship (TORC) was an American short course off-road racing series. It tours throughout the United States featuring professional four and two-wheel-drive Trophy Trucks along with a Pro Light class. TORC was founded by off-road racing driver Ricky Johnson in 2009.
Competing in the Traxxas TORC Series Pro-2 class in 2013, he was named the series' Rookie of the Year. [5] The series was renamed as TORC: The Off-Road Championship. He continued in the Pro 2 class and finished sixth in the 2014 points. [6] Johnson raced in selected TORC Pro 2 events in 2015 finishing sixth in the points. [7]
TORC: The Off-Road Championship was originally the preeminent sanctioning body for short course off-road racing in the Midwest before its folding in 2018. The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series then took over as the main series in the region via the Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League until its dissolution after the 2019 season as officials elected to focus on LOORRS.
