Earplugs help to a certain extent but can hurt your ears after a few months of use. White noise - a noisy fan for example with friendly noise to drown out the bad noise. We get anxious because we perceive as a problem we cannot do anything about. I have never bought property for this very reason.
We tried introducing ourselves but were only met with the husband who's away mostly for business. Hi, yes, noise sensitivity has bothered me for a while... There's a coffee shop in town which is an older building, which seems to echo. When the shop is full, the noise sounds horrendous to me, so much so, that I have to go out... When my anxiety is really bad, I feel highly sensitised to noise... 'it does my head in'.

About 3 and a half years ago, we had new neighbours move in next door, a single mother and her two teenage sons. We live in a quiet village.
