Rincón (Spanish pronunciation:) is a popular beach town and municipality of Puerto Rico founded in 1771 by Don Luis de Añasco, who previously founded Añasco in 1733. It is located in the Western Coastal Valley, west of Añasco and Aguada.
In 1899, the United States Department of War conducted a census of Puerto Rico finding that the combined population of Rincón and Monte Llano barrios was 1,374. [7]

Domes Beach (Playa Domes) is on the northwest point of Puerto Rico, in Rincón and known for big wave surfing during the winter. It is also known as Lighthouse Beach and Maria's Beach. [1] The beach is near a defunct nuclear facility called the Boiling Nuclear Superheater (BONUS) Reactor Facility. [2]
