Matthew Petgrave (born January 29, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player currently playing with the Sheffield Steelers in the British Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). He is a former ECHL First-Team All-Star [1] and he has played in the highest national leagues in Slovakia, Czech Republic, and the United Kingdom.

The British Knockout Cup was an Elite Ice Hockey League competition originally created to fill the void left by the demise of the London Racers in the 2005–06 season. The first winners of the cup were the Sheffield Steelers who defeated the Coventry Blaze on penalty shots in the final.

In April 2017, Phillips helped lead the Steelers to two milestones. He became the most-capped Sheffield Steelers player in history and also helped the team become the second in UK history to record ten playoff wins.
