Motorcycle trials, also known as observed trials, often called simply trial or trials, is a non-speed event on specialized motorcycles. The sport is most popular in the United Kingdom and Spain, though there are participants around the globe.
From 1968 to 1974, it was the Trial European Championship, and from 1975 onwards it has been known as the World Championship. Up until 2010, the outdoor world trial championship has been won by 6 different pilots from the UK , 5 from Spain, 2 from Finland and France, and 1 from Belgium, Germany, United States, Japan and Sweden.
The UCI Trials World Championships were held for the first time in 1986. [3] Until 1999 they were held separately from the UCI World Championships in other cycling disciplines.
