The Air Motion Transformer (AMT) is a type of electroacoustic transducer. Invented by Oskar Heil (1908–1994), it operates on a different transduction principle from other loudspeaker designs, such as moving coil , planar magnetic or electrostatically -driven loudspeakers, and should not be confused with planar or true ribbon loudspeakers .
Angles are measured by the transceiver, which contains an array of transducers. The transceiver head normally contains three or more transducers separated by a baseline of 10 cm or less, hence the "short baseline" name. A method called “phase-differencing” within this transducer array is used to calculate the direction to the subsea ...
Also, the multiple sensors needed for the USBL transducer pole position and orientation compensation each introduce additional errors. Finally, the non-uniformity of the underwater acoustic environment cause signal refractions and reflections that have a greater impact on USBL positioning than is the case for the LBL geometry.
Transducer technologies employed much less commonly for headphones include the Heil Air Motion Transformer (AMT); Piezoelectric film; Ribbon planar magnetic; Magnetostriction and Plasma or Ionic. The first Heil AMT headphone was marketed by ESS Laboratories and was essentially an ESS AMT tweeter from one of the company's speakers being driven ...
Brooke Walker grew up in an Arizona church community. Families, side by side, in communion with God and each other. But the church, she says, was actually a cult.
Siblings—you can't live with them, but you can't live without them. Unless, of course, you're a 29-year-old horse forced to babysit your rambunctious younger sister!

Using piezoelectric transducer, the wave propagation angle in the test part is affected by Snell's law. As a result, a small variation in sensor deployment may cause a significant change in the refracted angle. Easier to generate SH-type waves. Using piezoelectric transducers, SH wave is difficult to couple to the test part.
