San Martin is approximately 48 km (30 mi) south of San Jose, California, 11 km (6.8 mi) north of Gilroy, California, and 24 km (15 mi) inland from the Pacific Coast. Lying in a roughly 6 km-wide (4-mi-wide) southern extension of the Santa Clara Valley , it is bounded by the Santa Cruz Mountains to the west and the Diablo Range to the east.
San Martin station is a Caltrain station located in the downtown area of San Martin, California. The station is only served by South County Connector service during weekday peak hours, with four northbound trains to San Jose in the morning and four southbound trains to Gilroy in the evening.
The road was established as a stage coach route circa 1856, and paralleled a railroad line built in the late 1860s. [3] It was part of the main road connecting San Jose to Monterey, [4] and incorporated parts of the historic route of El Camino Real connecting California's missions.

State Route 94 (SR 94) is a state highway in the U.S. state of California that is 63.324 miles (101.910 km) long. The western portion, known as the Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway, begins at Interstate 5 (I-5) in downtown San Diego and continues to the end of the freeway portion past SR 125 in Spring Valley.

It is noted that the south roadway of Santa Monica Boulevard in Beverly Hills is a city street while the north roadway of Santa Monica Boulevard is a California state highway, each roadway handling bi-directional traffic.
The route goes past Pasadera, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Laureles Grade, Corral De Tierra, San Benancio, Toro Park and Spreckels, becoming a freeway for the last 3 miles (4.8 km) before Salinas, eventually turning north. At the city limits, SR 68 becomes South Main Street and continues to downtown.
