As of the 2020 United States census , the township's population was 39,907, [ 9 ] [ 10 ] an increase of 408 (+1.0%) from the 2010 census count of 39,499, [ 18 ] [ 19 ] which in turn reflected an increase of 4,888 (+14.1%) from the 34,611 counted in the 2000 census .
