Article 7 describes the school’s responsibility to provide a FAPE to a student with a disability, including evaluating the student, working with the parent as part of the CCC, implementing the student’s IEP, and ensuring that procedural safeguards are provided.
The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) is dedicated to ensuring that local educational agencies (LEAs) receive effective and efficient targeted support when needed. A Facilitated IEP (FIEP) is an option available at the request of schools and parents for conflict prevention and resolution.
Indiana’s special education law, Article 7, provides for special education and related services for students aged 3 through 22 with one or more of the 13 identified disabilities. Article 7 identifies the eligibility criteria for each of the 13 areas of disability.
