Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Kaʻūpūlehu is a AAA Five Diamond rated Four Seasons resort in Kaʻūpūlehu, on the Kona-Kohala Coast of the island of Hawaiʻi. The tsunami from the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake damaged the resort and forced it to close for six weeks (until April 30) for repairs. [ 1 ]

Kailua-Kona is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Hawaii County, Hawaii, United States.It is most commonly referred to simply as Kona (a name it shares with the district to which it belongs), but also as Kona Town, and occasionally as Kailua (a name it shares with a community on the windward side of Oʻahu), thus its less frequent use.
Plans were to enlarge it and build a larger resort combined with the Kona Lagoon Hotel (built in 1975), and more facilities across the street, to be called the Azabu Kona Beach Resort. [8] There was also a botanical park called Kona Gardens on the uphill (mauka) side of the street. However, the investors suffered financial problems in the 1990s.
