Rachel (Hebrew: רָחֵל, romanized: Rāḥēl, lit. 'ewe') [1] was a Biblical figure, the favorite of Jacob's two wives, and the mother of Joseph and Benjamin, two of the twelve progenitors of the tribes of Israel. Rachel's father was Laban.
