The manual choke pull handle in a 1989 Hyundai Excel. The term "choke" is applied to the carburetor's enrichment device even when it works by a totally different method. Commonly, SU carburettors have "chokes" that work by lowering the fuel jet to a narrower part of the needle. Some others work by introducing an additional fuel route to the ...
The GY6 single is forced-air-cooled, with a chain-driven overhead camshaft and a crossflow hemi cylinder head. Fuel metering is by a single constant-velocity style sidedraft carburetor, [2] typically a Keihin CVK clone or similar. Ignition is by capacitor discharge ignition (CDI), with a magnetic trigger on the flywheel.
The GY6 might be 15 degees off horizontal. The GY6 may be a honda clone, but it sure as heck not a clone of the elite/spacey 125cc scooter engine. Somebody needs to check their facts. 21:14, October 15, 2006 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.215.40.190 (talk • contribs) This is a picture of a 150cc GY6 engine:
In oil and gas production a choke manifold is used to lower the pressure from the well head. It consist of a set of high pressure valves and at least two chokes. These chokes can be fixed or adjustable or a mix of both. The redundancy is needed so that if one choke has to be taken out of service, the flow can be directed through another one.
Flooding can also occur if the choke has been over applied or has malfunctioned. A severe form of engine flooding occurs when excessive liquid fuel enters the combustion chamber. This reduces the dead volume of the combustion chamber and thus places a heavy load on the starter motor, such that it fails to turn the engine. Damage (due to ...

If the fluid is a liquid, a different type of limiting condition (also known as choked flow) occurs when the venturi effect acting on the liquid flow through the restriction causes a decrease of the liquid pressure beyond the restriction to below that of the liquid's vapor pressure at the prevailing liquid temperature.
