Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park is a public recreation area on the western side of Lake Chelan, 15 miles (24 km) northwest of the city of Chelan in Chelan County, Washington. [2] The 232-acre (94 ha) state park was a private resort that came into state ownership in 1972.
In 1914 Avery and Julia Singer built a small hotel and cottages at Barnes Point on the shore of Lake Crescent, opening Singer's Tavern in 1915. [2] At the time of its opening, the Tavern consisted of seven Lodge rooms, five of which are still in use today, and a series of cottages, spending nearly $50,000 on the construction and furnishing of the hotel.
Elk Mountain is a 6,773-foot elevation (2,064 m) mountain summit located in the Olympic Mountains, in Clallam County of Washington state. The community was originally named Peddit's Township of Elk. [2] A post office in Elk has been in operation since 1892. [3] The current post office sits on the site of the Elk Hotel, which was destroyed by fire in the early 1970s. A one-room schoolhouse was built in 1902. [4]
