The Association of California Symphony Orchestras (ACSO) is a non-profit trade association based in Los Angeles. It was founded in 1969 by a small group of orchestra managers, and currently serves over 150 organizations and their 2,000 board and staff members.

Dr. Richard Lert was appointed Music Director and Conductor in 1936. Under Lert, the Symphony became a founding member of the Los Angeles Symphony League in 1955, and was recognized with Metropolitan Status by the American Symphony Orchestra League in 1968.
