Vom Kriege (German pronunciation: [fɔm ˈkʁiːɡə]) is a book on war and military strategy by Prussian general Carl von Clausewitz (1780–1831), written mostly after the Napoleonic wars, between 1816 and 1830, and published posthumously by his wife Marie von Brühl in 1832. [1]
The book begins with a title page and a citation of a person named Franklin: "We daily make great improvements in natural, there is one I wish to see in moral philosophy - the discovery of a plan that would induce and oblige nations to settle their disputes without first cutting one another's throats."
