Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (or DeKUT) is a public, [1] coeducational technological university in Nyeri, Kenya.It is one of 22 public universities in Kenya, having been a constituent college of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology since the year 2007 until it was chartered to become a fully fledged public university on 14 December 2012.

The main campus of the university is located along Bogani East Road, in the neighborhood of Langata, in southwest Nairobi, the capital and largest city of Kenya. The geographical coordinates of the university campus are: 1°21'04.0"S, 36°45'28.0"E (Latitude: -1.351111; Longitude:36.757778). [3]
Laikipia University Main Campus is located 50 km from Nakuru town and 11 km from Nyahururu Town, along the Nakuru - Nyahururu Highway. The ideological heritage of educational instruction at the Kenya Highlands Bible College, which became the University recently, dates back to 1932 when missionaries of World Gospel Mission saw the need for training their converts. Dedan Kimathi Waciuri (born Kimathi wa Waciuri; 31 October 1920 – 18 February 1957) was the leader of the Kenya Land and Freedom Army during the Mau Mau Uprising (1952–1960) against the British colonial rule in Kenya in the 1950s. He was captured by the British in 1956 and executed in 1957.
