Northland Public Library is a public library serving a north suburban area of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.Located in McCandless Township about eight miles north of downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, it is operated as a municipal authority supported by the residents of McCandless, Ross Township, the Borough of Franklin Park, Marshall Township, and the Borough of Bradford Woods. The college opened Boyce Campus, in Monroeville, and Allegheny Campus, on Pittsburgh's North Side, in 1966. The following year, South Campus was opened; North Campus opened in 1972. The college also has centers beyond the main campuses that offer classes.
McLennan is one of three colleges in Waco along with Baylor University and Texas State Technical College. McLennan Community College is located on 200 acres (81 ha) on the north side of town near the Bosque River and Cameron Park. The college also owns Highlander Ranch, a 200-acre (81 ha) farm about 5 miles (8.0 km) from the main campus.
The Allegheny regional branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, located at 5 Allegheny Square (Allegheny Center), was the first tax-supported library in the United States. It is now closed to the public following a lightning strike on April 6, 2007. A new library opened nearby at 1230 Federal Street.
