The Waverly Historic District is a national historic district that is centered roughly on Academy Street and Abington Road, and which encompasses Carbondale Road, Beech, Cole, Church and Dearborn streets in Waverly Township, Pennsylvania. Waverly is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the central community within Waverly Township in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States.Originally called Abington Center, it was founded in the late 18th century by settlers from Connecticut, along the Warriors' Path.
South Waverly is a borough in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, United States.It is part of Northeastern Pennsylvania.The population was 1,070 at the 2020 census. [2] South Waverly is part of the Penn-York Valley (called "The Valley"), a group of four contiguous communities in New York and Pennsylvania: Waverly, New York, South Waverly, Sayre, and Athens, with a combined population near 30,000.
Most of the house construction took place between 1880 and 1940. The oldest houses are located on the east side of the district near the river. The secondary buildings date from around 1890 to 2010. Some of the houses were commissioned from regional architects, but for the most part their designs were derived from pattern books.

The Latah Creek Bridge and the Town of Waverly, pre-1968 Waverly was settled by white immigrants as early as 1878, and was named by two settlers after Waverly, Iowa in 1879. [ 5 ] [ 6 ] The following year the community received a post office at the residence of A.D. Thayer on Hangman Creek (now Latah Creek ), where it remained for five years.
Waverly is a city in Bremer County, Iowa, United States. The population was 10,394 at the time of the 2020 census. [2] It is the county seat of Bremer County [3] and is part of the Waterloo–Cedar Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The sister city of Waverly is the German city of Eisenach, which is famous for the Wartburg castle.
