Clinton is located in southeastern Missoula County in the valley of the Clark Fork River, which flows northwest 17 miles (27 km) to Missoula, the county seat. Interstate 90 passes through Clinton, with access from Exit 120. I-90 leads northwest to Missoula and southeast 63 miles (101 km) to Deer Lodge.
