İstanbulspor was the first team relegated to 2024–25 TFF First League after a 2–1 loss to Fatih Karagümrük at home on 20 April 2024, ending its two-year stay in Süper Lig. Fatih Karagümrük were themselves relegated after a 3–1 loss at Gaziantep on 18 May 2024, ending their four-year stay in the top flight.
The first promoted team was Samsunspor whose 4–1 won home against Keçiörengücü on 23 April 2023 confirmed their return to Super Lig after eleven years. The second team that got promoted is Çaykur Rizespor , who a goalless draw with Altınordu on 21 May 2023 and returned to the top flight immediately.

The 2024–25 season is be the 35th season in the history of İstanbul Başakşehir, and the 11th consecutive season in the Süper Lig. In addition to the domestic league, the team is participating in the Turkish Cup and the UEFA Conference League .
