The giant potholes are at the foot of a short cliff approximately 75 feet (23 m) east of Buffalo Road, opposite a lumberyard 2.8 miles (4.5 km) from East Side Road in Wentworth village, 1.7 miles (2.7 km) from Sand Hill Road in Rumney. Access is easiest from a grassy area at the side of the road southeast of the potholes.
