Ronald Joseph Cicenia (December 11, 1935 – January 16, 2007), known as Ron Carey, was an American film and television actor. The 5-foot-4-inch (1.63 m) actor was best known for playing ambitious NYPD Police Officer Carl Levitt on TV's Barney Miller, in which he was almost always surrounded by male actors (and sometimes female guest stars) who stood at least 8 inches (20 cm) taller.
Barney Miller is an American situation comedy television series set in a New York City Police Department police station in Greenwich Village. The series originally was broadcast from January 23, 1975, to May 20, 1982, on ABC. It was created by Danny Arnold and Theodore J. Flicker. Noam Pitlik directed the majority of the episodes.
A labor layoff forces Barney, Fish and Yemana to man the squadroom without Chano, Harris and Wojo, while a manicurist (Candice Azzara) goes deeper than the nail and a morose former stockbroker becomes a petty thief.
Wojo's new girlfriend wants to move in with him, which scares him. (This episode was a backdoor pilot for a spin-off show that would focus on a different member of the squad's life outside the precinct - however, it was not picked up)
The detectives get a female colleague, Det. 3rd Grade Roslyn Licori (introduced as Chano’s replacement), who has a jealous husband; Wojo brings his bedroom problems to work; and a shoplifter using a wheelchair does a runner on Nick.
Dorsey becomes overprotective of a 15-year-old hooker, while Dietrich tries the "new celibacy", Barney fields calls from powerful men concerned about a high-end escort's "little black book" and Harris gets stock tips from an unlikely source. (Note: Third and final appearance of Det. Dorsey.)
Against regulations, Dietrich joins an anti-nuclear protest, while Barney is unable to afford his condo-converted apartment and a lottery winner tries to give away all of his prize money in an unusual fashion.
