Arya 2 or Aarya 2 is a 2009 Indian Telugu-language romantic action film written and directed by Sukumar. Produced by Aditya Babu and B. V. S. N. Prasad under the Aditya Arts banner. The film stars Allu Arjun , Navdeep , and Kajal Aggarwal . with music composed by Devi Sri Prasad .
The film was co-produced by Action Cut Entertainment. The film features Bengali actors Ankush Hazra, Subhashree Ganguly and Vikram Chatterjee in the lead roles. [2] A co-production of India and Bangladesh, it is an official remake of the 2009 Telugu-language film Arya 2. The music for the film was composed by Savvy Gupta, Hridoy Khan and Akassh.
The first look of the series was launched on 3 June 2020, [citation needed] followed by the trailer on 5 June. [ 52 ] [ 53 ] The series was premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on 19 June 2020. [ 54 ] On 6 September 2020, the show was released in 6 different languages – Tamil , Telugu , Bengali , Malayalam , Marathi and Kannada .
Neil Armstrong in the i newspaper praised the performance of Arya and described it as a "silly but enjoyable action thriller". [13] Adam Sweeting for The Arts Desk gave the show four stars and praised "strong work from Arya and Jallab" but felt that "the show’s major calling card is Sean Harris".
His work on Arya earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Director – Telugu and Nandi Award for Best Screenplay Writer. Sukumar's other notable films include Arya 2 (2009), 100% Love (2011), 1: Nenokkadine (2014), Nannaku Prematho (2016), Rangasthalam (2018), Pushpa: The Rise (2021), and Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024).
