The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (Indonesian: Kepala Staf TNI Angkatan Laut, abbreviated KSAL or KASAL) is the highest position in the Indonesian Navy.The position is held by the four-star Admiral or Marine General, appointed by and reporting directly to the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces.
It consists of the Army (TNI-AD), Navy (TNI-AL), and Air Force (TNI-AU). The President of Indonesia is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. As of 2023 [update] , it comprises approximately 400,000 military personnel including the Indonesian Marine Corps ( Korps Marinir RI ), which is a branch of the Navy.
General Maruli Simanjuntak (born 27 February 1970), is an officer of the Indonesian Army who has served as Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army since 29 November 2023, replacing General Agus Subiyanto.
