Doctor Strange is a 2016 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the 14th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The character of Doctor Strange was originally created in the 1960s. Artist Steve Ditko and writer Stan Lee have described the character as having been originally the idea of Ditko, who wrote in 2008, "On my own, I brought in to Lee a five-page, penciled story with a page/panel script of my idea of a new, different kind of character for variety in Marvel Comics.
After premiering in cinemas in May, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be available to stream on Disney+ and to buy on digital starting June 22, and to purchase on disc on July 26.
