Jiwaji University (JU) is a public collegiate university in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India.The name comes from Sir Jiwaijirao Scindia of Gwalior. The university was established on 23 May 1964 and Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the President of India, laid the foundation stone of the campus on 11 December 1964.
RGPV was established in the year 1998, by Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Act 13, 1998. [5] The university was established by the Government of Madhya Pradesh as a common university for all the technical institutes, mainly including engineering and pharmacy colleges in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
It was established in 2011 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh and has jurisdiction over all medical, dental, nursing, paramedical, Ayurveda, homeopathic, Unani, and Yoga colleges in Madhya Pradesh. [3] It has about 300 affiliated colleges and a yearly intake of 80,000 students. [3]

The campus of Barkatullah University covers 360 acres (1.5 km 2).It is on the National Highway 12 which passes through Bhopal. It is a residential-type campus and, apart from the quarters for the vice-chancellor and the staff, there are four hostels for boys and a hostel for girls.
