This is a list of universities in Poland.In total, there are approximately 457 universities and collegiate-level institutions of higher education in Poland, including 131 government-funded and 326 privately owned universities, with almost 2 million enrolled students as of 2010. [1]
The university continues the educational aims included in programmes of interwar Free Polish University and post-war activity of the Common Knowledge Society (Towarzystwo Wiedzy Powszechnej). In 2010 the university was formally entitled to grant MA degrees in Pedagogy and Philology; in 2013 – in Internal Security and Finances and Accounting.
It operates here 8 public (state) schools – including 5 universities – and 20 private universities (non-state) (2012). In Poznań there are studying, according to data from 2012, more than 135,000 students.
As for 2025, the university is ranked 64th by QS World University Rankings for universities in Eastern Europe and in the top 5 for International Student Diversity in Europe. [ 26 ] [ 27 ] It is included in The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023, ranking 301–400 internationally for Reducing inequalities.
In 2010, the University had 4 faculties and offered 7 fields of study. On December 30, 2022, in accordance with the decision of the Minister of Education and Science , the University of Finance and Management in Białystok changed its name to East European Academy of Applied Sciences in Białystok (WANS).

The university has its own houses, dormitories, social facilities and sports grounds.
