The Doctor of Social Work (DSW) is a professional doctorate in social work, it is the highest academic award available in the field of social work, and most offer advanced training in a professional area of practice including but not limited to; nonprofit organization, leadership development, and social justice.
In order to become a forensic social worker, individuals must typically have a master's degree in social work. In addition, they must have a license to practice social work. Individuals who wish to specialize in forensic social work may take additional courses or pursue a doctorate degree in forensic social work.
